I was able to find a job back in my same Department on another team. They say that you should pick managers, not jobs, and I have to say from this experience, that can't be more true. My manager felt terrible I had to be let go and she was relentless asking other PMs and Directors to take me for any open positions.
I won't say which Department because I am the only employee who that I know of in this situation so I will not doxx myself.
But please for those of you laid off don't lose hope. Keep reaching out to your networks and best of luck!
and for those of you wondering yes I still get to keep the severance pay. When I was laid off I got 2 months plus paid out unused vacation time (which for me was 12 days)
So I basically got a really long vacation lol. I start in my new role after the July4 weekend and I can't be more excited to be back! NYP is prioritizing rehiring laid off employees for open roles so with the right PM advocating for you and some luck, many of us will be back on our feet in no time!
