Thread regarding Ford layoffs

If you get Terminated, can you collect Unemployment?

I'm not talking about a layoff, but an actual Termination? A co-worker/friend of mine had a project dumped on him - no longer wants to do it. They claim he has to because it's a Smart Objective of his. He's going to get reported to HR as his supervisor has to send a form? Just curious about what happens?

Whether the assignment is a smart objective or not, he is being paid to do a job and they get to define that job. Of course he has to do it even though he does not want to! Welcome to adulthood and responsibilities. Your friend sounds like pretty juvenile and irresponsible

Earlier this year Michigan upped it to $446/week. You also get a modest amount per dependent. Like $24/week or something.

in MI, it's around 350 bucks a week tops if you were making around 120K per year at ford and max 6 months.

For the amount of tax we pay, unemployment is a joke. The only reason I stoop to give up my dignity is because it's my money at the first place.

If you get fired for cause then technically you can't collect unemployment.

However, if you apply and the company denies it, then your appeal. Most companies will not go to unemployment court to fight an appeal and will just pay.

Keep applying for other jobs , unemployment is not enough to bills.
