Maybe it'll happen and maybe it won't. I'm thinking the person who's highlighting who the CEO is, is also forgetting that he's same CEO who's not liked by a few government entities. Vena has to be careful with what he does, because he really is being watched very closely. If it does happen, then yeah it'll be sad to see so many people lose their jobs and I'llbe wrong. Don't forget that Vena's decisions before is what got the UP where it's at right now. I still remember some people on here that said when Vena came back, that the mass layoffs would happen. Someone even said that the PNW would close down and be sold off. Yeah those didn't happen and the UP still owns the PNW. I do have to say that it's nice to see the inner source HQ guy is back though. How have you been? I see you're still pushing the bulldozing aspect. Don't look and question the writing on the wall. You look and question the person who wrote it. I just have a hard time believing anything posted on here, because almost all of it never happened.

@e8 ahhhh the old "It can't Happen" mentality. You forget who's the CEO??!!!?? Carmen can be replaced with a stroke of a pen and send that work off to the lowest bidding contractor. Unless your close to retirement, No job is safe.

Im one of the last frogs. This job use to be fun when I started in 1994 with SP. Then UP came in. Knocking cars out of the RIP! Throwing couplers up like nothing. Showing these young bucks a thing or two. Today, they watch me on the cameras changing shoes. One time I had to take a dump in the yard and I got wrote up. Got a blue signal violation couple times. Yea this job su-ks. Im glad I'm about to retire.

It'll never happen. They've talked about since the early 2000's. There are no replacements. Cars get worn out, wheels always need to be changed, etc.

If this is true it’s just a matter of time before they give the locomotive work to contractors as well. First the service tracks, then the shops. The writing will be on the wall. Time for a new job.

I have an inside source at HQ and he says it’s true. All Car departments will be disbanded and all structures/shops/buildings will be bulldozed. Mechanical will be doing all the Car/Locomotive work.
