fwiw, was in a customer event today and a group were chatting while getting lunch. we started talking about different companies and their innovations. i mentioned cisco and i kid you not, the table erupted in laughter. someone said cisco is the blie screen of death. even their logo points to that. dna center single pane of glass? more like 48 tabs and a prayer that it all comes together.
cisco needs a major overhaul. who even buys their cr-p anymore

Here is the bottomline. Just like Cisco was not a cloud company, similarly CISCO IS NOT AN AI COMPANY.

Cisco is jumping on the bandwagon to make sure they can keep selling routing and switching gear, but they have no clue what AI is and what it does and how to leverage it.

Someone wrote here that the stock is white hot. Stock buyback, piping people and doing small RIF are contributing to this. Cisco tech isnt moving the needle anywhere. Dont need a CCIE to figure that one out.

@er What AI? If you are talking about patch work that Cisco slapped together with some new tools then yeah its all AI. This happens every time. Take cloud for instance. Intercloud was the new thing that would rival AWS and Azure. Cisco put in bare minumum resources to make it a success. Come to 2019 it was shut down because it was useless. A company that had access to all the routers and switches was not able to capitalize on the cloud transition. Imagine how incompetent you have to be to make something like that happen?

Now AI. We are doing the same nonesense and expecting a different result. We will miss the AI transition while others eat away at us like piranhas.Enjoy the managed decline people

Cisco has no products besides AI. AI is the new paradigm shift do or die moments. Only history will reveal the reality and truth.

Yup, look at Gardner Magic Quadrant for LAN/WLAN. That is Cisco’s bread and butter and now falling behind.

We missed a market transition. When Meraki was absolutely crushing it, we should have double downed on it. Added the new "campus gateway" like Juniper Mist had and added more AI type assurance features. If we just did that and then all collectively pushed one product we would be at the top. Instead we fought internally, slowed our innovation in Meraki and now here we are going backwards.

people who drink the cisco kool aid cant see how disastrous cisco has become. announcements made at cisco live mean nothing if they arent passing the technical requirements the industry needs.
this means the enterprise is fu---d and now customers know what they already suspected. cisco has fallen behind. technical debt is carching up.

Oh, cry me a River. The data they collected was from January, well before any of our announcements at CL were public.

it doesn't matter...people log in to CNBC and see announcements for massive datacenters and infer that just by blind luck, some Cisco gear will end up in them

and they are right, some will

but all build-outs end, the end of the first great internet build-out took Cisco from being the most valued company in the world to the largest layoffs in its history

Fake news. Cisco has a new AI that runs the network for you. No one has anything close to it.
