Google Microsoft, Wallmart flattening their chain of command

https://www.msn.com/en-ca/money/career/i-m-a-microsoft-employee-witnessing-the-great-flattening-so-far-the-middle-manager-squeeze-has-been-a-career-opportunity-for-me/ar-AA1HnnMs?ocid=msedgntp&pc=U531&cvid=59f68eda52154808b142a6b4097b2188&ei=55

When I joined Cisco was proud to be a quite flat organization.
Can't say if it is true or not, looking back at other employers I worked for it was pretty much the same.
Manager, Director, VP etc etc

I’m at the bottom, but it’s crazy how disconnected leadership is just in my org. I can’t imagine how out-of-touch the remaining 8 levels above that are. lol

Bad for juniors and associates. Nothing for them to be promoted to.

We all knew management jobs would be the first to go with AI. This flattening is not a surprise.
