Per the job chick:
“ Major UPDATE: Microsoft's 7-8K+ layoffs are coming into focus.
Managers are being briefed June 26-27.
Layoff comms expected July 2-4.
Internal calls have confirmed it: MCAPS is getting hit pretty darn hard.
The message? Sellers must be deeply technical.Non-technical roles... slide deck builders, relationship managers... are being phased out. Al has already automated the polish work apparently?
One insider said: "15 reps shadowing a deal. You only need 4. Org's bloated. Too many middle managers doing nothing."
Territory model's changing too... fewer specialists, more products per rep, smaller geos. It's not just layoffs. It's a full-on GTM restructure.
This is not the same job cuts from May of 6K... or the new ones being discussed today that hit Gaming and Xbox.
Yeah... it's a doozy out there. What are you hearing?”
Cisco is eerily similar..and Cisco follows industry leaders. I think the sales layoffs at Cisco will be worse than everyone initially thought. The days of having 5-6+ people getting paid on a deal is over. If Microsoft is realizing it and acting on it you know Cisco will waddle to the trough in short order. Enjoy!
