This is so backwards. We are paying GPs to retire early yet brining in NYC Citi Execs? They are draining the culture.
Can't imagine intentionally poaching a third rate bank's executives. The more offensive aspect of this is the shift toward valuing pedigree over competence. Sad to see it.

My division used to be made up local home grown talent who started at the bottom and workes their way to the top. They helped create the culture and lived the values of teaching and helping. They were always so approachable from the perspective of us "normal people", because that's where they came from. They all have retired in the past 2 years and more have announced their upcoming retirement. It's sad because the top 2 in the division are new outside of firm hires. I'm sure this trend will continue. I mean these new hires step in with high paying jobs, are granted immediate GP, get to enjoy those returns, and get to work remote. Every Wall Street VP title (which is nothing, of you're familiar with banking titles) would be crazy not to consider EJ. Keep these positions in STL.
Citi is one of the least respected financial services companies out there. Their stock was 6x higher 20 years ago! A blockbuster in the making. Why do we keep taking their execs? PP and DS are going to destroy EJ.
