I’m ready to strike. It’s obvious what Carl Icahn is up to. That 89-year-old belongs in prison or the graveyard. Does he not know that he can’t take it with him?

Here's a breakdown of the "Locust Hypothesis" and the viewpoints it represents:
Origin of the Metaphor: The term "locusts" was first used in 2005 by a German politician to describe foreign private equity and activist hedge fund investors who, in his view, were "stripping companies bare". The image of locusts, known for their destructive swarms that devour crops and move on, was intended to evoke a sense of rapaciousness and disregard for long-term well-being.
Criticism: Those who embrace this comparison argue that these investors prioritize short-term profits at the expense of sustainable corporate health. They accuse foreign money managers of:
Pushing companies to focus on quick returns.
Encouraging companies to stop investing in plants and equipment, leading to potential job losses and negatively affecting innovation.
Controversy and Nuance: While some criticize hedge fund activism for potentially leading to negative long-term impacts on firms and prioritizing short-term gains, it's important to recognize that:
Not all hedge funds are the same: Hedge funds encompass a wide range of investment strategies, and their impact varies.
Debate exists: Academic research on hedge fund activism and its effects on companies is ongoing, with some studies suggesting potential benefits like improved long-term firm value and increased innovation efficiency, while others raise concerns about negative impacts on long-term performance and potential for risk-taking.
Lack of transparency and limited regulation are often highlighted as factors contributing to concerns about hedge fund practices.
In summary, while the "locust" metaphor is used to express criticisms and concerns about certain practices within the hedge fund industry, it's crucial to consider the various strategies and potential impacts of hedge funds, and avoid generalizations.
The only way to defeat a hedge fund swarm of corporate officer locusts is to take away the food source. AEP's value that is being exploited by the hedge fund corporate officer locusts is its employees. Without our knowledge and devotion, AEP is is just physical assets. Buildings, vehicles, materials, tools, power plants, transmission lines, substations and distribution lines . Without the employees the hedge fund corporate locusts starve and die. We have the power to end their reign of tyranny, if we chose to be united against our common enemy.
@kq Anyone considered dropping links to the various threads on this site to the 11 state commissions and/or respective consumer advocate organizations?
It is time to rid ourselves of the migratory corporate hedge fund locusts devouring the cash crop of OUR determined labors. No sweat, no sacrifice means no reward, deadbeats.
@cb+1jy94ymjf My question too. I'm willing, but realistically, what can we do here?
The new obscenely narrisisitic leadership of AEP does not comprehend what drives employees to serve their communities and customers. This dedication to selfless service is the antithesis of leaderships' self-serving vainglorious self-aggrandizement. AEP cannot survive this tension of polar opposites. The only way AEP can survive is for selfless virtuous employees to invest themselves in a predatory criminal enterprise and AEP employees have too much courage and integrity to submit to MOB rule. Or for AEP employees to drive out the virtue-less criminal leadership element that is destroying our company and our virtuous American Dream. Carl Icahn is enemy of every AEP employee and customer. We cannot allow him and his henchmen to tear down our legacy of service and sacrifice to enrich themselves at the expense of our customers and our families. Fight for the light of our collective hope that drives back the darkness of despair imposed by Carl Icahn.
Be resolute virtous Americans,
But what can we actually do to make a difference?
When you understand the price hundreds of millions of Americans are paying so 902 un-American globalist billionaires can stand atop a mountain of wealth to rise to greatness, you have to ask yourself, why are we putting up with this tyrannical bullsh*t.
The immensely wealthy few have angered the impoverished many by manipulating America so the immensely wealthy rule supreme, until the crushing weight of the angered many drops on them like a anchor maker's anvil. Elections matter because the subjugate or empower we the people.
