But aren’t the best and brightest days still ahead for Intel? That’s what DB and MVH said in every all hands communication. We’re in the saddle… Yee hah!

Supply Chain is likely going to be outsourced, if not right now then in the near future.

Although critical to fab operation, there is nothing unique or special about any of the job functions.

That pretty much is the criteria for outsourcing. It's coming to all groups, including some engineering groups. Intel BB will mean something different in the near future.

Those affected should be viable candidates for the outsourcing company, so a bit of transition then back to the job at hand.

Just talk to your manager though and get a sense from them. It will be more specific than anything anyone comments here

If DB isn’t the first one to go, it’s all for nothing. If he hasn’t saved enough money yet to retire then he never will. Home Depot might take him, maybe.

And Bloss stood up and told us a few years ago the 2023/24 cuts were so proactively deep that supply chain wouldn’t need to be cut again. And here we are, another 30% looming. All trust is gone. What a mess.

@aq ... the whole RTO/WFH discussion is over, live with it. The points you bring up are nothing new. If you survive the July reductions then plan on spending 80% of your time on site starting in September. Sorry, it is just a fact. The decision has already been made and communicated. Why do you think they chose Sept for the implementation? This way they don't spend any money bringing people who are getting let go back on site.

Slackers slack regardless. People with work ethic work regardless of where they are.

Just cut the low performers. Has nothing to do with WFH. One should be evaluated on the results that they produce not how much time they spent in the office. If the manager can't tell what value a direct report is adding to the company, then thats an opportunity for headcount reduction. For many, it's not a pay by the hour or 9 to 5 gig.

Should be 50%. Majority WFH and work 4 or less honest hours a day. Get the remainder to 8 hours in office. Cut heads 50%.
