Thread regarding Edward Jones layoffs

Branch Offices - are they aware of this?

I’m wondering if the branch offices (FAs and CST members) are aware of what’s happening to the home office, ER.

I want to know if the branches are ever truly polled. I would assume they would want better availability from HO (via phones) rather than care we are going from 6 GPs in one department making a decision down to 4.

I had a HO associate at my door the day after the announcement. I was enraged for him and appalled at the lack of shock and anger in the rest of the field. The heads keeps saying “all is well” and some keep believing it even as we watch others get kicked out. This is wrong and the opposite of what Ted or Mr Jones Sr would have done. I am disappointed in Penny.

Our branch cares very much. We're trying to keep up but it's hard to get information. We've been vocal, too, but it doesn't matter. Apparently things only change when big producers start leaving.

I’m in Service Division, which just hired 15 or so new employees, while after 13 years I was offered the VSP. These new employees will not know all the nuances that we more tenured associates know in assisting the branches with a not so intuitive system. I was thinking of going back to be a BOA but honestly, I don’t believe service to branch teams will be good.

Maybe not in your region but I can tell you for a fact that some FAs were indeed notified of the layoffs. Legit a lady in our area who the FA calls just sometimes to chit chat called to say how badly it su-ked layoffs were coming.

@a7 that's not true. I'm a BOA in a branch and at least in my region, many branch employees are upset about what is happening at HO.

There was a meeting 2 weeks before they announced ER to HO that was for branch offices and telling them. Some people in HO actually found out because an FA called in and said so sorry about the layoffs coming and the person was shocked to hear it.

They don’t know and, more importantly, they don’t care. They may start caring once we finish outsourcing Service to the call center in Tucson, AZ.

No. 99% of FAs and BOAs have no clue. They keep telling us that things are going to get better for us, but very few actually understand what is happening.
