Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

IFS versus TSMC

Just how far in FTM?

TSMC probably 110 BILLION revenue

TSMC > 17 million 300mm wafers or about 50K WSW

TSMC manufacturers more than 11 thousand products on 2nm, 3nm, 4nm, 5nm, 6nm, 17nm 12nm, 16nm, 20nm, 22nm, 28nm, 40nm, 65nm, 90nm, 0.13um, 0.18um and 3um!!!!

They do that with 77K employees.

How many employees would Intel have needed to do want TSMC does ?

To be fair TSMC has 20 yrs on us to build proper Foundry systems designed for customers. And they've had yrs to get efficient and build proper automation for that business. We're still dealing with manual conversions.

What are those numbers going to look like after China decides that they have had enough? There is enough going on in the world right now that taking Taiwan would barely make the headlines. Maybe that is the idea, get the US to sell their we-pons stockpiles to the rest of the world while China stocks up on their own.

When you have lost economy of scale, you can never catch up.

Winner take all.

Half the pay, half the workers and 996. The only way out.

TSMC earned USD and pay Taiwanese worker with TWD. Intel should learn and pay Intel Points to compete.

Um...What you just listed out. Intel can't do that. More or less employees doesn't change this fact.
