Thread regarding Teradata Corp. layoffs

Time for Evan Randall to fall in his sword

After leading a disastrous systems 'upgrade' (Optimus Prime?! What are we? 12yo?) and with a disorganized and dispirited workforce that he rarely communicates with in any meaningful way, its time to see if others can do better.

At the very least, we would never have to see his apalling 'motivational' 1980s style vision statement at the opening of his occasional all hands meetings ever again...

Many missed opportunities with Optimus Prime. We have people who think seniority trumps knowledge.

@e3 Are you surprised by who lead the PM team? She has zero knowledge. That team blamed HR when projects failed. A good PM team will utilize the subject matter experts and allow them to lead with the support of PM group. However, PM team will push and go off sidebar and try to create project without any knowledge.

@OP

Anyone else notice that the new regime "leadership" when they landed focused on improving back office processes , ie. Workday, Salesforce implementation etc.

I know that there was definitely room for improvement but that's low hanging fruit.
Anyone could have make that recommendation and those vendors were happy to oblige.

The $$$ and energy spent on those efforts would have been better focused on ensuring you have a product that matches both the installed base and prospects requirements.

Yeah, managing by spreadsheet was painful but it still got the job done.

Project management issues? They laid most of us off last November.

Not able to place orders for a full quarter. Many errors and omissions... a team that is non-responsive to time entry and project management issues... OP is a failure of Optimal proportions.

At the end of the day it wasn't OP that will sink the ship, but it didn't help...6 months later after the 'upgrade' and here we are with a broken system that still doesn't work...were any of these 'winners' in Rome??
