Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

RIP LTD-M

The semiofficial word is that we're getting folded back into TD and most LTD-M ENG are getting promoted to customer.

It's been fun, RA4 bros

Merging LTD-M into TD is a bad decision. Neither could do well as they compete on fab equipments, fab capacity, complicates management, and slows down TD development. When fab issue happen, people can not find tool owner, could not track down who owns the problem and who should solve the problem. Fab need stability and accumulative skills, the frequent reorg is a disaster. TD and LTD-M are under low-knowledge managements who make decisions to su----e.

LTD-M used to be D1C. It is just a bad decision to merge D1C into D1D/TD and share the same fab equipments. It drags down TD. A bad decision for Intel fab. This is a perfect example that a bad manager can make a bad decision that lasted many years in unrecoverable mode.

LTD-M has been merged into TD, then saparated, then merged… quite many times in the past. Either way worked well. It is just a matter to fire one manager, then hire another for LTD-M.

@ab “Promoted from employee to customer” is just a cheeky way of saying you got laid off or quit. You’re not on the inside anymore—you’re just a regular person now, like any other customer.
