Engagement Survey Results

Look at that - “recognition” and “pay and performance” dropped 7 points - who’d have thunk it.

What doesn’t get called out is the senior leadership items. “Senior Leader Trust” is down 8 points since the full survey in March 2023 and is well below the global and fin service benchmarks. Maybe because it didn’t drop much since November 2024.

In all my years at TIAA I have only been honest one time on an engagement survey and just happened to receive the only low rating of my TIAA career. They are not anonymous and they do result in punitive outcomes no matter what BS we hear from HR. Give them what they want “leadership is awesome”

Look at HR AI software companies like Bamboo, HIBOB or even IBM Watson HR. Not only can they tell who wrote the survey comments, they can tell you who you took to prom, where you went to rehab or if you hired a good lawyer or a cheap hack for a DUI. And that’s just HR. Corporate Security has former FBI and intel employees. Nothing digital is secret. Nothing. It only depends on how badly they want the information.

The head survey guy even said on a “Stay Out of the Know” session that while the surveys are anonymous, they have the capability to determine who said what in case the need to investigate a comment that details s-xual harassment/bad behavior.

Just like HR telling us the performance scale is not a forced distribution but the “expectation” is associates will fall into the distribution categories…

@ky You are obviously new to here or the corporate world, that or your a boomer and don’t know how technology works.

Managers with 5 or more direct reports can see comments, so director could see all comments if they have several reports with under 5 people.

People tend to talk and type text very similar. So a manager/director can see a comment and isolate it to one of their direct reports especially if the comment was about one of their questions related to them or their manager.

Plus … if you use the corporate computer or phone to take the survey which almost everyone does, and decide to leave a comment it can be traceable that way as well.

People get fired here for less than a bad comment on the survey but it’s NOT 100% anonymous - nothing is fully anonymous in this digital age.

They're anonymous. Just because they assign a unique ID so u can't fill out the survey 100 times doesnt mean they're tracking you. Its a vendor who runs it. They wont share identities.

Please name a single person who has been fired based on their survey responses.

What next? AI can figure out who the writers are?

@c8 agreed 100%. Best to leave comments blank every survey. Eventually they may make comments not optional in which case I will respond to all with “N/A” if a bunch of spaces don’t work. lol

Contrary to what people say, engagement surveys are not anonymous or confidential. Each has its own link and the responses can be tracked. Comments can be used to fire people and it has been done before.

Does NOT exclude Denver. It does exclude anyone with a term date in the next few months... not different than past surveys.

I can't tell if u people intentionally misstate truth or you just eavesdropping on HR and pretending you know stuff.
