Give the customary two weeks notice, but prepared for Schwab to cut off your access immediately, especially if you have access to sensitive or proprietary information.

You could be denied entry to the building and work from home the remainder of the two weeks notice with full pay.

Work both jobs for a while and when someone at Schwab notices your “productivity drop”, they have to give you a 90+ day PIP, so just don’t work much in there and get free $$$$.

For the love of god, don't give 2 weeks. You will deal with Insurance Issues and if you are going to a competitor and they know beforehand they will make your life he-l. I suggest that you don't even update Linkedin or do it way later. Remember Schwab doesn't give a F about you and neither should you care about them. Ghost them and be silent. When things settle down get in touch with that 1 or 2 people who really cared.

Sometimes the calendar does not always line up with end of the month. Nor the start date of the new job. Or people have to make different living arrangements. I can’t believe this is so hard to for people to understand. I tried to do the right thing and was sc--wed over by doing that. I don’t regret giving two weeks. as that is the type of person I am. Then afterwards Schwab threatening to sue me as I moved to an RIA that also custodies at Schwab even though the role was not a sales job and I didn’t contact or talk to any clients. Schwab is a cesspool and I would not give two weeks. You need to do what is best for you. If that means two weeks great. If that means 1 day then do that. Personally, I would give one day.

Your insurance stays in effect until the end of the month of your last day. So if your last day is the 1st, your insurance stays effective the rest of the month.
I’m confused why this is a difficult topic for people and surprised so many think it’s ok to just bolt. Like the previous poster said, yes they decided to cut him loose the day he gave notice, but they paid him the remainder of what would have been his two weeks, because they have to. He just got a free two weeks off before he starts his new job. So why would anyone not give a two week notice.

Do not give two weeks. I tried to discuss with my manager man to man when I left so I could figure out a start date and not have any gaps in insurance. Was walked out immediately. Was paid for the final week and a half. Was able to use Cobra but it was expensive. If I were to do it again I would have taken my sabbatical and quit the day I got back.

That's awful! So many of these "leaders" at Schwab are hollow, crooked worms that are deeply lacking morally and spiritually. I know of a couple people that left all of a sudden, and at the time, I wondered why they left in that style, but now I know.

Put in a two week notice. If they make you stay the full two weeks, you’ve left on good terms. If they cut you loose early, they still pay you the rest of that two week period.

Shouldn’t even be a question, if you’re a professional. Please hold your comments about Schwab deserving it or whatever, it’s a matter of your reputation.

You are still in the early stages of your career considering you are Specialist SWE. Unless your PL and skip level gave you extremely hard time, it's always better to part ways in good terms. The world is small and we never know if you come across their paths again.

Custom is to give two weeks notice but you don’t have to. For example, if things are bad here or the new company wants to onboard faster.

However, be prepared to get kicked out immediately. This is frequent if going to a competitor. Recommend clearing your things ahead of time.

Otherwise you can work the last two weeks and likely have lots of training for your replacements.

Can you share a little bit more context regarding the terms of your resignation? Describe boss quality? Tenure quality? Motivation for moving on vs. staying? This information will help us advise you regarding how to resign, and also how much notice to give.
