Wonder what Trump would say about an American company that is the currency for ratings being operated out of India and jobs(data) being outsourced to Mexico. Maybe he would be interested that fake news start with Nielsen. Keep jobs in America

@fv This is an interesting argument. The ads on TV are not working. Ads on TV now have convinced the consumers that they're trying to make someone else's problem fictiously their problem. For this reason, the ads are ignored. They can increase impression count with some degree of effectiveness, but a lot of that will work out to be negative [opposite of what's intended].
For instance, selling gambling ads is just going to convince the public that ads are evil and should be discounted. Whereas selling a brand of coffee or car might be considered more positively by consumers. You may get buy-in in that case.
@p7 If Palantir moved its dataset mgmt overseas it would be a problem. Nielsen data is not that sensitive of course, but once data handling requirements start kicking in for domestic use... it becomes a tidal wave. This is what happened in china as they locked down all the digital assets there + why you have to file for permits any time you move data around in that country. India will become the same and the US will follow... it's just a matter of time.
Moving data mgmt to Mexico? Might be less risky but there are a lot of known foreign actors/risks there too. I think reshoring is the only safe way to deal with viewer data + show/music datasets. It's the wrong business to offshore + if I were an investor I'd be very concerned. Suppose, for instance, Apple gets a 90-day notice to reshore affected data asset handlers. That would bubble out to Nielsen quickly. Just an example k.
MAGAs always worshipping their orange messiah despite him literally never giving a sh-t about anyone other than himself lol
Ask an appropriate congressman to have a friendly chat with Ron Bloom and David Kerko at Brookfield+Elliot Investment Mgmt. There are imho real arguments for moving media measurement assets to the US from India+Mexico and it may be these discussions just haven't happened. Until they do, assumably, nothing will change.
I doubt in the long term that it's practical to have US consumer data on Internet+TV behavior held and monitored in a rival nation. Those involved in moving said assets out of the US will probably be held in a negative light. The players are busy and may not have considered just how negatively they may be affected in the future.
I think this is a fair way to put it. I'd put forth a more specific argument+plan but am not in the best of health- good luck!
Thank you for your attention to this matter!!
Trump will get back to you in two weeks with his response.
@v8 I literally left Nielsen and am at my new company creating AI Policies and keeping EXTREMELY close tabs on how AI is being rolled out along with knowing several people in capital hill. Don’t tell me to “educate yourself”. Newsflash: We. Are. Sc--wed.
@t5 maybe educate yourself on AI first before spewing falsehoods. So wrong.
You realize that Big Beautiful Bill has no restrictions on AI for the next 10 years - correct? Forget outsourcing. Any job behind a computer screen is going to be outsourced to free AI. Unless you’re a plumber, electrician or nurse we are sc--wed.
@fv this will never happen. keep dreaming pal
Job off shoring has been en masse happening for a loooong time. It’s not new, no politician on either side of the aisle actually gives a sh-t. First manufacturing moved. The past decade it’s been engineering teams, quality teams, call centers, etc. with Ai, more will lose their jobs (I’m in engineering and have been for three decades, I’m seeing this first hand). Trump doesn’t care. The dems don’t care.
The administration would do nothing.
Brother, what has Trump actually done that indicates that he would GAF?
Agreed OP, and I align closer to the other side of the political spectrum. The amount of American owned and established companies that are outsourcing is skyrocketing. Google just asked their operations center employee (their ROC) to align with the new company vision or voluntary resign their positions. Nielsen didn’t even give that option; just a sm--k on the a-s and a go on n’ git from upper management. Disgraceful and the real definition of despicable. Trump needs to know that these big name companies are trying to discretely swap out American jobs for outsourced positions, or finagling it to look good on paper.
OP has a point. The offshoring of Jobs is ki-ling the American workforce.
lmao trump’s first presidency saw lots of offshoring. he only cares about making himself richer and staying out of jail. also why are you surprised by any of this? nielsen has been laying off for over two years. i guess you only care now that your depts are being hit.
nielsen is broke. elliott mgmt bought their debt and now nielsen has to pay them through any means. there is no saving any nielsen jobs. the press won’t care. this is not uncommon, unfortunately. read up on paul singer, the doomsday investor. This is a company that has bankrupt entire countries, they don’t give a fu-k about you or me or Nielsen. they just want profit off of the debt they bought.
cute you think trump would care, when he likely thinks paul singer is a great businessman. lolol
@OP Um man baby trump would not care whatsoever since he is only in for himself.
RFK and Sanders are about to pull the plug on Dr-g advertising. It is the end of ad based TV and companies like Nielsen that support it.
