Will any Fabs close or be mothballed until more customers/demand occurs? It is cheaper to run 2 fabs at 80% utilization than 3 at lower utilization rates say at 53%

They should have closed the entire New Mexico site years ago and consolidated the packaging somewhere else. SxP actually saved that site.

Non-EUV fabs are not going to remain part of Intel.

Older fabs are likely to be sold off to GF - Intel really want's nothing to do with the older fabs, not enough margin.

Definitely cheaper with higher util and fewer fabs. Your fixed costs are the same. The question is is this feasible for the product mix Intel runs. Easier said than done for Intel.
