Thread regarding MassMutual layoffs

It's not a matter of if you get laid off from ETX, it's a matter of when

Unless you are part of the inner circle or special interest groups who are protected, everyone is expendable. If you are a lifer and bought your house for cheap out in western mass 20+ years ago and you're still somehow not prepared for this I don't know what to tell you. You've had to have see this script play out over and over again. They've paid above average for most of the tech roles for that area so I hope you've been saving and ready to get back in the workforce likely doing something else as the tech industry has move way beyond what MM has. It's a sad reality and not fair it's just the way it is.

Bumped from @ky+1jx59mxay for being on point.

This is really sad. MassMutual, internally, could have been a great place. A wonderful place to come in, work and feel proud of what you do when you go home.
But no.
The overinflated egos at the top and somewhat in the high middle have to ruin it.
They do not care one iota. It's very clear what they think, how they "lead" and what they think of you.
You are not welcomed here. You are only tolerated until you are sent packing.

There are no special interest groups that are protected. When people are laid off, they have to provide a list of demographics to show a certain group wasn't targeted or not targeted.

Not that MM has a lot of protected groups in ETX anyway. I've seen inner circle people let go when it suits those in charge.
