executives have nothing better to do so they have a huddle and come up with the genius idea to make sure everyone is on camera. it really shows how bad leadership has become in recent years. instead of focusing on engineering, innivation and product quality, being on camera is apparently an important aspect of increasing customer satisfaction in all verticals. harry and lloyd were smarter

More facial samples for the replacement memes that are coming. You will get that or "best case" a real dip sh-t from mx or bgl.

Overthinking it friend. Turn your camera on, turn it off, doesn't matter. There isn't someone on your call keeping a talley. I'm 100% remote and keep my camera on because I spend every waking moment with my children and need adult human interaction. Sometimes with pants sometimes with out lol.

Sure I’ll play the game of turning my camera on, just don’t ask if I have pants on.

Imaging giving a presentation to just a bunch of blank squares with names on them. It's not very encouraging.

I've done a lot of engineering presentations at many companies in person, via video conferencing and via telephone. People who do this don't do it to be encouraged, and we're not stupid enough to think that in most cases more than 15-20% hear a single word we say.

It's like coming here and telling people layoffs are inevitable so you need to keep your skills and professional network up to date, and even do an interview from time to time so if a better option appears you'll be there to catch it and if you get laid off you'll already be in the mindset to make that next step. Every time I've posted this as a stand alone comment I'm down voted into oblivion, but if I provide some small help to 2-3 people each round land on their feet it's a success.

@d3 this kind of behavior is what makes people loose trust on employees..

When you're a speaker, giving a presentation, it is appreciative to see people actually paying attention, even if you're not. Imaging giving a presentation to just a bunch of blank squares with names on them. It's not very encouraging.

However, try this trick. Take a photo of yourself with your webcam. Use that as your virtual background. When the meeting starts, it looks like you're present, but you can actually walk outside of the "plane" of the image and then go do something more useful.

I put a sticky note folded over my macbook camera...I just assume the Cisco spyware can otherwise access it no matter what Tim Cook says

@a6 you all have 2-3 jobs? There must be a lot of downtime. Wtf

@a1 because let's be honest - working at a desk means not doing a lot, giving people time to do whatever - drink, play games, pretending to be busy - it's true. AI doesn't do any of that. The reason for the big replacement. Why pay so many people to do nothing.

Why do office workers have so many "meetings"

@bf yeah it’s true one of the craziest things that’s ever happened at work. No idea what prompted her to do that. But I messaged a few of the teammates I spent time with outside of work who I could trust and knew they wouldn’t mind me asking if they also saw it. Three of the four I messaged confirmed they also saw it. For the tatas themselves, they were absolutely amazing.. I immediately hardened up and gripped my piece!

@b8 is that a true story? Asking man to man assuming you are one and not a trans. How were the ti-s?

@b4 it was probably one of the most memorable moments I’ve ever had.. I have no idea if our manager ever spoke with her but a few of us were very excited.

Does pounding it with the AutoBlow AI+ deluxe male mbator count as Cisco "doing AI"?

they just want to make sure you are not at an another job site(2nd/3rd job), if your boss is asking you turn camera on, means he/she does not trust you... you might be on next chopping block.

Cameras are d-mb - especially for the rtards who stare at their screen rather than the camera when talking. Even our precious ELT can't seem to figure out where the camera is. Maybe a grunt will see this and give the ELT some coaching. Probably not, but I can hope.

It's like the narcissists who stare at their screen when making a video on their mobile device. I especially love the super aggro ones were you can clearly see their eyes on looking at their own display to confirm their rage. srsly...performative narcissists. Cisco has more than a few of those for sure.

People with virtual backgrounds can't be trusted...ever.

@a1 I agree with Brazzos here, once had a coworker who didn’t realize her camera was on and she took off her b-a mid meeting and was somewhat feeling herself up. Luckily the meeting was concluding so I don’t think the host saw but a few teammates sure did.. a few of us really enjoyed it, a few others felt bad. A Cisco classic nonetheless..and don’t even get me started on teammates who were opening pouring mixed drinks or drinking beer on calls during COVID
