Vencore was begotten out of The SI Organization which was begotten from Lockheed Martin which itself was the spawn of the union of Martin Marietta and Lockheed, and Martin Marietta bought GE Aerospace which was the ancestor of the main portion of Vencore.
They bought and sold a number of other businesses, changed their name a couple times, and the two remaining entities are Peraton and Arcfield. Both are owned by Veritas Capital.
Not an uncommon story in these days of private equity.
