Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

Intel AI Leaders are clueless about the market and the chip design

The new AI boss messed up NEX and now he is he-l bent on destroying whatever little AI Intel has . He does not listen to the engineers. He has no industry experience and has been given the most crucial role. Somebody who still flaunts his IIT and Stanford degrees and has nothing to show as deliverables after 21 years speaks a lot about his competence. And to partner with him is the AI product manager who is as clueless as him on the technical aspect.
BTW this is not some disgruntled employee, I am very much on the payroll , I am writing this in the hope that LBT gets wind of the erratic decisions being made which will assure Intel does not even stay in the running forget about being the Industry leader.

@OP LBT speaks to the customers directly , wish he did the same with the engineers . If he really wants to make it a true engineering company, their voices should be heard

Too much talk and marketing, no delivery of anything which can stand the test of time.

Networking is a completely different area than AI. This is a fake. There are many joined Intel from another company and they claimed they are AI expert. These are all fake.

@bn what is he going to update it with ? "Led and comically failed Intel NEX. Was able to sell and generate 10mil for Intel in the sale. Additionally saved Intel millions by laying off employees. "

Seems this time SK didn't update his LinkedIn profile as prompt as last time. Maybe he himself is not confident about any meaningful contribution he could make in his new role. Disappointed to see him getting a new job by LBT after messing up his old one. Only a accurate surgery could cut the tumor and save the company. But unfortunately I see many muscles are cut but tumors are kept. Not much time left...

NEX has the most GR10+ employees vs. Revenue. Mask designers are PEs, Senior PEs, Fellows

NEX leader Srinivas Lingam also clueless. He came from the defunct Habana as "AI" guy, but now just does slick ppt weeklies. LOL! How Intel wastes $$ buying IS bankrupt companies!!

The fact that LBP didn’t can SK on day one is proof that he cannot turn Intel around. How can he fix the company if he’s clueless about what/who the problem is?

You know what Intel is doing right? Slap the term A.I. on everything we sell and hope it flies.

@OP Agree - but also like othe top AI leaders in the past. Tiber Edge North star was not a great strategy - we have never been able to sell our software. The worst part was slow execution, poor communication. If you werent on the project, the first 18 months(?) you thought it was going to be the single NEX platform that we all would get on board with. That never happened until the very end and it was way to late. Past AI leaders approve projects that even if executed perfectly would be irrelevant 6 months later after Nvidia came out with its next product and was surely already being tested with existing cloud companies that mattered.

I can’t even tell what his responsibilities are vs. Lisa who manages software and AI. I’m not impressed with LBT’s leadership choices.
