We need good sales people
But good sales people not knocking on our door
We need great marking to restore the brand inside mattering when brands matter very little anymore in the world of ai, cloud services , micro services and SaaS PaaS
Or
We don’t
We just need to make stronger products that are based on what our OEM and CSP are asking for vs what our PE want to build to make SPE
In the end I fear LBT is going to crawl into the foundry hole and we are essential a contractor bidding for price and supply
@b8 I’ve heard 80% or more in marketing. Not heard numbers across the other functions within smg.
It was clear in open forum that sales would be impacted minimally, if at all.

I am a manager in SMG. It is chaos working with HR on these skill assessments. They don’t care about taking the time to assess skills with what we need for the future…..they are only interested in who falls below the line to be impacted. Very shabby process. I hope I fall below the line, SMG is in a world of hurt!

All I'm gonna say is - the "commissioned sellers" at this company couldn't sell ice to someone in the Sahara without pricing concessions, a new shiny marketing campaign, and marketing messaging. Literally they cannot sell anything to anyone.
Good luck trying to sell without any actual marketing support.
I'm sure their brave interim leader will have some awesome cliche he stole from a p-e wee football coach somewhere though.

What do you expect? We have Sales and Marketing and Product managers that sell nothing but just renew existing contracts. Yet everyone is a Director or VP and been here forever. There is a PE Sales lady in my organization. What is a Sales PE ???
