Thread regarding Chevron Corp. layoffs

Is Exxon once again a better option?

I just checked their page, and they a lot of similar issues to us but they haven't had layoffs in a while, from what I can see. And that's the only thing that really matters at this point.

XOM does ACTUAL forced ranking (not what CVX people think of as forced ranking) and forces out low ranked EEs regularly. You can argue whether the low ranked people are ALWAYS the low performers or not. They put in ENGINE equivalent years ago and offshored 1000s of jobs (all functions) 4-5 years ago. Recency bias has us all forgetting that. I know very few current XOM employees that enjoy working there. (I live in Spring/ Woodlands area)

As long as it’s the low performers getting cut, I’m fine with it.

I came from there and I won’t ever go back bc of the culture. If u don’t care much about culture, it may be a good fit for u.

Exxon cuts low performers every year so they don’t need to have layoffs.
