You're a cost center, not a person here. Ford leadership would replace us all with robots tomorrow if they could. I'm not saying quit today - we all need paychecks and we all know the state of the job market - but never confuse this for anything but transactional. Protect yourself accordingly.

A chef in a profitable Italian restaurant decided to open an Indian restaurant. When Indian things did not work out, the chef then decided to cut the profitable Italian restaurant hours to save money.
How do you protect against this? The easiest way apparently is to shift to Indian restaurant work even it is losing money. Logical or not/Common sense isn't that important anymore.
Yes, this is true. Remember that you are a merc that provides value. You provide what you can for as log as it serves you and the company. After that time is over, you move on. Its a cold calculation that can work in your favor if you let it. Either way no matter how you feel this is how the company sees it.
I personally watch “Life after layoff” incase that day ever comes.
