75 people from manufacturing IT were cut last friday. And many people come back, but you're right, you need a high up signature for it or come back as purchased service. i know many. But as keeps being said, why try to?
Once cut Ford will not hire you back unless a VP at HR oks it.
And no one will go there
@dj I have personally known 6 people that have been let go over the last two months.
Entire team (blue/green stripe) was told it was coming well in advance. Everyone was saved by being moved to another team (budget fun), or found a spot (FnF) in a different department at the very last minute .. except ... I was the only one who did not get moved nor was able to find anything within so got cut after 20+yrs. Cuts are happening in smaller numbers to avoid bad publicity.
Probably needed another skillet.
"I sent emails to my former manager about 3 times just to see if there might be any contract opportunities even though I'm gainfully employed."
Why?
I have personally known 6 people that have been let go over the last two months. All different areas. They are spreading it out in small groups so that they don’t get the bad press.
I was part of the 3,000 laid off in Sept. Of 2022 when they said EVs made our skillets obsolete! So wrong in several ways. I bled Ford blue during my career and it wasn't just a job, but it became part of my identity....well no more!
I sent emails to my former manager about 3 times just to see if there might be any contract opportunities even though I'm gainfully employed. There wasn't even the decency to reply at all.
Just goes to show that you're only a number.
Where?
Why? People who work for other people have accepted they are at the mercy of their decisions. I never hear people on hear saying how they make peoples lives better when they hire them or give them a raise.
