Thread regarding TIAA (TIAA-CREF) layoffs

TIAA is going BKWD…

This company is going backward not forward.
Not paying associates fairly, no raises in 3+ years for most, forcing RTO at the expense of talented tenured associates yet promoting AI and other technologies that people have experience with in other states we don’t have a hub in, basically gave all our funds to Nuveen, new projects without much value or gain but creating complexity and extra work for associates to throw stuff together to “make sure it works” which was worse than other implementations here… always adding difficult complex things until the system can’t handle it and associates have to do manual workarounds. the list goes on…

Not trying to be political here but seems like every company defected from updating their logos with Pride month. I was never a fan of that as the tried to commercialize it. But one company that didn’t - Accenture, a place I will be proud to call my employer soon before or after the office closes and forces me out, perhaps one of my first assignments will be to fix the broken at this company.

OP us "proud" to work at Accenture because they don't celebrate Pride. I think that's how they know they'll be happy there.

@b7 this is 100% true. There is currently a role posted that has a max salary that is 35% less than the mkt rate. Bonus is less and the only real benefit is TIAA’s “unlimited PTO” (and that’s not a benefit bc for this particular role outside of TIAA, PTO would accrue). TIAA wants 7-10 years experience and only wants to pay for 5…

@ap perhaps because I worked at Accenture before and when hired at TIAA full time I took a 10k pay cut to be here and still am not where I used to be salary wise…I’m sad they didn’t bring my team aboard but I’m sure I’ll be back there soon.

@b7 I think that comment is unfair in nature. We’ve heard the “no raises” for 3 years yet they gave $50K raises for 3 EC members. We haven’t had raises or cost of living adjustments. My mortgage has gone up by $400/month simply from taxes and homeowners insurance. Add in the increase in food and other needed living expenses. How much longer can this go on? It’s not right.

"Not paying associates fairly" means that other employers are paying more in total compensation for comparable jobs. Is this true?

@OP how would you know you will be proud to work at Accenture when you haven't been there yet. Good luck and please stay at Accenture.
