Thread regarding TIAA (TIAA-CREF) layoffs

Does TIAA do exit interviews?

And if so, would you be honest or say nothing not to burn any bridges? I'm tempted to just be completely honest, but I know it's risky.

OP, if you believe the know it alls here, nothing is done with the exit interviews... so no need to be worried about burning bridges.

I say that they do pay attention but for trends and since youre gone, there's nothing they can so to you. Why would they look for payback if someone leaving says bad things when the company goes out of their way to ask?

I say give them your feedback and you can move on knowing you did what you could to improve the place for everyone else still here.

I had no exit interview. Our team was transitioned, manager was sent to one team, other team mate to another team and my position to India. Our positions were transferred to India and haven't even gotten up and running as of yesterday. We were transitioned over a month ago.

Mine was a survey like the qualtrics ones that they ignore and manipulate. The most impersonal survey. They don’t give a fu-k cause they want you to leave, they are not interested in improvement.

Exit interviews are a sham. Waste of time.

No. It’s just a conversation with your manager. Basically to remind you of your non solicitation or any other legal agreement you signed to be employed at TIAA.

Did an exit interview a few years back with my manager - not HR. I was critical of him and the company but was able to return back so guess I didn’t burn a bridge or wasn’t blacklisted.

That was some time ago and culture is completely different so I would be kinder now. Also with Denver closing and I can’t return to TIAA ever unless I move to a city with a hub for a 3 day office work week, if I get a job before my last day later this year … I’m gonna burn it down! I’m sure it will be wasted breath and not go anywhere though so whatevs.

I don't think they really care. If you don't like it here just leave. They will hire more Indian.

Companies do exit enterviews, just for show. They won't actually act on them.

Ask your company to list four things they've done over the past year or two in response to results of an exit interview. You'll hear crickets or something completely unrelated to what would seem appropriate.
