I can see the kind of mess you all landed in, while I’m here in a smaller company with job security, good pay, and amazing benefits. When I was laid off, I thought my life was ending but it turned out so much better than I ever expected. Sometimes I come back to this board just to remind myself what kind of mess I escaped. I truly hope every single one of you finds a better job and a healthier place to work.

Yeah, we are really sad over here watching our RSU values.
I made 7.7 M and clean the toilets
I am really done with this Amrican heeelll hole that was sold to zhina.
I have accumulated 4 million in cash. At 5% interest it is 200k per year. I think I will buy a farm and settle down.
I made 2.6 million last year. My salary is 125k per year. I bought the Gulf of America.
Inevitably the cut the muscle and keep the fat. That is always how it works. A fattened organization is a degenerate organization. Eventually when you want to cut the fat, it always cuts the muscle because the organization has been corrupted for a long long time.
Then the fat degenerates suddenly running the show think that their time has finally come. These degenerates who don't have any other opportunity will stay. But they keep telling themselves that they have rightfully got control after a long time.
This is how the descent into hellll progresses. The degenerates drive more the good people away until only degenerates remain. This swamp now stinkss to high heaven before eventual demise.
We are now in the swamp level. Going down.
not sure you proud-to-be-gone gloaters realize just how much the staying corp prost---tes we are pull in every year from RSUs. After 20 yr career at $200K/year level on avg, pulled in 1.3 million last year by skng the HT do-g for RSUs. Never like to see people canned but believe me, it was NOT because you were no good, it's practically luck: nepo picks by some du--a-s manager line who does the keep/ki-l lists. Those lucky to stay in this h3ll are in fact getting rich while it lasts, that's the truth.
laid off, working somewhere else for the same salary. And guess what, still WFH.
Bought me a car and AVGO stock with my severance package.
Despide DeepSeek and Trump already at 39% profit.
Stayers, keep suffering HT while making me rich
@OP please let us know how is life outside of the matrix. We will keep you updated on the HT heeelll. We just had the next edition of the earningsx callx kabuki theater. It was fun. You can read all about it on the internet. TLDR: We have 60% growth in AI revenues. We have 20% growth in VMware revenues. We have fired 70% of VMware. I am not who I am. To be or not to be. Francis Francis Anon Anon.
@OP hey guess what now your are gone no one misses you , get a life and move on , it's only a job you need to get out of your basement and get
Back into the saddle also stop coming to this site your not with the company any more, it's like visiting the Facebook page of an ex .. You need some help ..
I was a long-time VMW person who was in a transition role post acquisition. Leaving was bittersweet but as we all know the company many of us had loved (warts and all) was gone.
However leaving doesn't necessarily mean losing out on lucrative work opportunities. By d-mb luck my exit turned out to be extremely cash flow positive for me. Before my transition role ended, I found a long-term contracting gig working for a former VMW exec now at another company. I tossed a Hail-Mary pass and requested an early release from BC, and to my amazement it was approved! BC paid my entire transition bonus and full severance, then I started my contracting gig 2 weeks later. I pocketed a mid-six-figure payment on my way out the door, and my contracting gig pays ~2x my last VMW OTE. Not as lucrative as if I had stayed at BC and continued vesting RSUs, but not too shabby.
I can completely understand anyone who is still at BC, and just biting their lip to hang on for as many RSU vests as possible. I wish each of you well. If I had that opportunity, I'd probably be right there with you!
Staying in BC is the best. Look at the stock price. We are getting rich.
@c4 This is exactly the story, wait and see. Broadcom pays well.
This su-ks but the money is good. Where did I hear that? The oldest profession. Just one more year and then I will marry and settle down.
My mind is telling me "leave now, this place su-ks"...but the RSUs got me in a sweet chokehold... oh well, let's see how long i can ride the storm...
I am glad as well
Place does s-ck but I can stop working years earlier and leave the matrix.
This is the way.
What "wheat faaangas"? I feel sick in my stomach from the cafeteria food already. What is in that water? Never seen that brand of filter anywhere in the world. faaangas is a banned word? who thought?
Stack that cash under the bed. Bury the gold in your backyard. Chickens. Veggie garden. Model X to sleep in worst case. Stock up on the second.
Better to get fired when the going is still good. Imagine getting fired when the stock is down and the house is in foreclosure and the cars been repossessed, and the "wheat fu---s" made you sick. What did "border czar" just say? Are you listening to Jamie from JP Morgan?
Im so glad I didn't - cause next week just like in March and December I'll be getting a wad of RSUs that are strangely 2X my engineer salary. Place does s-ck but I can stop working years earlier and leave the matrix. So take that w your gloating of better pastures
Where did you land? I honestly don’t want to work here anymore. It’s so much to wrap my head around, I don’t feel like I have job security, and I would rather work somewhere else for less money
