Thread regarding Cisco Systems Inc. layoffs

Cisco PIPs are increasing

So all of sudden many folks are being flagged for PIP. Any specific reason?
Is Cisco planning not to give severance package this time around?

What makes G2 an AI expert?

he isn't one, but he pretends, which at Cisco is good enough

It won't stop. Look at the changing of the guard...the CFO is out and G2 is in

G2 wants, and will get, a major commitment to setting up shop in Bangalore

its already happening, some fool accidentally shared a spreadsheet with all of one org in SBG that showed the recs for Bangalore...dozens already...meanwhile I haven't even seen backfill hires in my org in ages...literally ZERO investment in North America

what does this tell you? G2 wants a new org - younger, cheaper, 100% in-office, 100% on-board with AI-driven development (G2 cannot stop talking about AI)

PIP, LR, or just slowly asphyxiation...it's just a matter of time for us North Americans who WFH

"Meta plans to replace its human staffers with AI to review the platform’s privacy and societal risks, according to internal documents reviewed by NPR. Up to 90% of all assessments previously done by people could be automated. "

Companies are still offering severance pay to people on pip as a part of separation agreement. Otherwise, there are still chances to sue the company.

My teammate just got put on one and has been totally blindsided. Our broader team is largely terrified. So not only are there formal LRs to worry about but also the PIP factor now… lots of landmines.

PIPs are barbaric, yet efficient to reduce head-counts without paying severance. Good managers don’t fall for this trap, and protect their team. Politically inclined and bad managers jump on the idea to get anyone process through PIP, and they get self pleasure doing do. PIPs are increasing and HR is there to protect management. Often you pray to get included in next LR than been pushed out by toxic managers.

You guys are correct pip_s are for money saving, once PIPed the person can not internal transfer, no bonus, and boss will push down mission impossible task loads .
