Different Function Same CL Same Salary Range?

Does same CL have same range across different functions?

Does Greenfield CL x have the same salary range as Brownfield CL x or Deepwater CL x?
Does Greenfield CL x have the same salary range as Product Solution CL x?

Different countries have different curves. For US there is an Upstream salary curve (A), a Downstream curve (B), and an Admin curve (C). The same CL in the same country, on the same of those 3 salary curves will be paid similarly (yee, ranking, all that). Beyond that, different companies/ function can have different “advancement guides”, which means how quickly you progress through CLs. So an engineer and a non-engineer may be in the same salary curves but on different advancement guides, meaning one might progress through CLs quicker. But same CL, yee, ranking in the same curve will still have same salary reference.

@cr if someone is preventing you from leaving you may be a victim of human trafficking. Otherwise, leave.

Had I known about the different curves, the CL, and the company “owning” careers, I probably would have not join the company.

The career progression game is just toxic. Political games and a lot of manipulations by insecure people.

For the US, there's at least an upstream curve, a downstream curve, and a finance curve. If you're in global projects, you can be on either U/S or D/S. Clearly, beneficial to be on U/S curve - higher salary range and you're more likely to have a higher CL as well.

Depends on your country, performance level, and which salary curve you’re on, which is determined by which function owns your career

Depends what you mean by “functions”. We still have different salary bands.
An engineer or geoscientist is more than likely earning more than a controllers or HR resource of the same CL.

CL at a location / country will have similar range salary regardless of function. E.g. Upstream engineers have a higher CL than downstream counterpart to allow company to maintain wage competitiveness.
