Chevron might buy Oxy for the APC assets and jettison the rest....Turnaround is fairplay ;-)
I would not count in CVX acquiring Oxy due to its debt level and high concentration of US shale. CVX already has a large shale position and needs low decline offshore assets like Guyana.
