Thread regarding T-Mobile layoffs

Are small layoffs how it's done now?

I just read there were some cuts two weeks ago but this is the first I've herd of it. Is this how it's being done now to avoid panic and negative press? Instead of a major round that draws too much attention, smaller layoffs others wouldn't even know about if it wasn't for pages like this one?

@ka

My layoff wasnt listed because it was packaged with 60 days PAID garden leave. STFU since you have no idea how WARN works.

it is nonstop. It will be so for all the yrs until the telcos like get broken by the federal govern. banks won't loan to companies in decline. The telcos don't have anybody going to the stores. people don't need the stores as they are moving to the internet phone companies like us cellular. This mean the trend is to avoid the telcos and their overpriced plans due to highly expensive offshore costs. The offshore costs exceeded the company profit over 15 years ago. We know the trend will continue. nonstop layoffs....nonstop for the big telcos is the normal for quite a while.

I would be shocked to be laid off this year. I’m so busy I don’t have time to take PTO.

Waiting patiently! I can't last another year. I should have it in the bag!

WARN notice also isn't required if they give the employee an initial 60 days garden leave pay followed by the start of their initial benefits they would have incurred over the tenure of employment.

Small layoffs have been the case while the stock price was going up. Expect a headline mass layoff in the next quarter if Mikey dissapoints The Street once again. #WeWontStop

It's done in small batches so T-Mobile doesn't have to issue a WARN notice.
