Hi guys. About layoff being extended to July 4th was also spoken by my unit manager. And NP who is close (very close) to the source (higher up) have stated the same. The number of roughly 1000 has not change. They simple trying to evaluate if NYP can function with the roles they just eliminated. There are more targets on the 1000 list. But spreading the time to see how things are running and what not. I am scared that I will be next.

@OP I know its easier said than done but don't be scared over a situation that you cannot control. If you're going to be laid off, there's absolutely nothing you can do about it. Instead, update you resume and start looking around at other hospitals and companies that you can apply to. Come up with a game plan so in the event that you are laid off, you would have already had a head start.
