Thread regarding Macy's Inc. layoffs

Plenty of better options if you step away from retail

After five years folding sweaters and dealing with Karens at Macy's, I took a chance on a warehouse position. Best career move ever. No more fake-smiling at rude customers, no more covering for coworkers who disappear during shifts - just clear tasks and an honest paycheck. The work's tougher on my body, but easier on my mental health. If you're stuck in retail he-l, start applying - these jobs actually respect your time.

For me the greast thing that happened to me was getting laid off from Macy's in 2018. I started driving school buses then and don't ever want to stop, I get better pay with a predicable schedule. no working holidays and such, Plus weekends and summers off.

I left to work in a hair salon as a front desk manager (i don't cut or color hair) and it's like a vacation compared to macys. $22 an hour and 40 hours a week and it's much, much easier than macys. I make appointments, answer the phone, make deposits, and handle the cash register. easy breezy and $3.30 more than I made at macys/ great for a mom who wants a 9-5 tuesday thru saturday.
