If you're young and you’ve got options, use them. Ford has changed. It isn’t magically going to turn into some golden opportunity down the road. I’ve been around long enough to see how this story ends, and it’s not with promotions or happy endings. The only regret you’ll have is not leaving sooner. Wish I had that luxury.

That is categorically false. You have a choice.
You may not have the ability or skillset to improve your situation. But you can job hop laterally to other companies.
You should consider learning a trade.
Very accurate. Should’ve seen when the one kid was schizo posting because someone mentioning FCG and Freddy Mercury triggered his ptsd, was taking attacks as personal when they never even mentioned him and wrote essays in response.
looks like a forum full of rejects here at ford. no high tech high demand here.. just a bunch of whining losers can't get a job anywhere else and have no choice to but stay
I’ve heard that before in model e… MANY TIMES
Do it then say.
Lots of people mad they are multi talented. They get mad you’re good at software engineering, problem solving, design, writing, business, marketing, management… and the depth within each domain. No talent wants to work in model e because they become ridiculed and nitpicked for one of their skills as if it’s the only thing being contributed. Model e has a culture of insecurity. No wonder they can’t take full accountability. Ridiculous
Let’s see how it goes. 4 years.
God bless. I hear you man. I’m investing in it. Glad it’s the full stretch and not instant results. We aren’t making ramen noodles
NOT EVERYONE HAS A CHOICE. NEXT.
well.. you are in the driver seat of your career.. if you choose to put the golden handcuffs on yourself and stay then it's your choice. or if you want to leave and take some risks .. that's your choice too. you can live a life full of regrets or make changes to improve your condition. you can be a victim of your own circumstances and let things happen to you, or make decisions to improve your conditions.
yes ford has changed. that was clearly stated at least 3 CEO's ago by Mark Field, Jim Hackett and Farley. they want to change the culture of ford to be more like a startup tech to complete against the like of tesla, apple, amazon. in turns, they have made ford worst, not better... they have copy all the bad behaviors and none of the good. they have brought in soft landing losers from those companies... who else would leave.. the winners would have stayed and rise.. just the flunkies would leave to be executives here at ford.
I don't often post here, but I don't get the hate on this. I'm in FCG and others feel the same, this is entry level experience, but there's no motivation or feeling of wanting to stay long term. I and I know others plan to do the same. Wait for someone to get cut so a promotion opens up before finding another job makes the salary negotiation easier. I already plan to leave I am just waiting for the right opportunity.
This is Ford , you get promoted for nothing and high performers who did all the work get laid off.
Same here, I’m in FCG and work with someone I could definitely replace above me, and I’ve been waiting for him to get cut. I plan to leave anyway, but need that promotion to make salary negotiations easier on the way out with recruiters.
Hoping enough people around me get cut so I can move up 🙏😂. Just need that 1 promotion before jumping ship, singing like Freddy Mercury every announcement!!!
I couldn’t agree more. It’s clear that sound engineering judgment and long-term thinking have been sidelined in favor of decisions that often defy basic logic. For anyone paying attention, it's obvious this isn't about complex problems—it’s about leadership that consistently chooses short-sighted paths. You don’t need to be a rocket scientist to see where this is going. The unfortunate truth is, without a real course correction from the top, the whole thing is on a slow decline. The smartest move is recognizing it early and acting on it.
