Anyone else applying for jobs while working? I am literally working in fear and pain whilst applying for external jobs. I am worried that the bottom will fall out and we will be left with nothing to spare. Jobs are difficult to find these days in Canada with all the international students and foreign workers taking the roles. If I get canned I wouldn't even be able to work at Tim Hortons!

It is easier to get another job while still employed. So yes yes continue to apply and interview and don’t be afraid to leave if something better comes up!
I remember when I started spending money on building my secondary office room the people at ford that were enslaving me started getting trust issues thinking I’m getting a second job or already have one. Every meeting with webcam on there was something new in the backdrop. They did not want me to have a good life for fear they will lose me. So they would bully and taunt me / or condition me to not try to apply to other jobs. I was so naive. It was kind of poetic that instead of being happy for me improving my environment right out of undergrad opposed to spending it on other things… they saw that as a threat and started getting paranoid. Deadass b and to make it seem like most ppl are applying for jobs while at work is ridiculous because if someone really wanted to.. they could do it after work.. so like 7-8pm.. RIGHT??? Sure… suuuuure….

Applying for jobs while working is something you should be doing anyway and should be standard for everyone. Everyone should always be looking for that next opportunity. You never stop looking and you do not trust anything your management tells you about job security....ever. You have too much at stake to trust anyone that doesn't have a direct interest in paying your bills when it comes to your income.
GM laid off many Oshawa workers again too. Canada is finished a long time ago. Thanks to politicians destroying our lives.
