Thread regarding Illumina Inc. layoffs

Illumina need growth

We need some way to grow the company. If we can’t grow organically, we need to figure out how to grow inorganically.

We need someone really good at M&A for this company, don’t see anyone good at it in the current ELT, pls go and fix this gap.

Pls don’t transform this company to a mediocre one. Keep on cutting bottom line without growing the top line is a 2nd class company.

M&A is in under people who have neither experience nor any clue about how to make deals. Just look-up their LinkedIn. Bunch of consultants and ex-R&D glorifed admin (chief of staff). Hopefully the new VP of M&A will clean up the house.

With layoffs, you can see growth short-term in profitability but not with innovation, revenue, market share, engagement, or momentum.

You most definitely can obtain growth through layoffs. It will just be extremely short term.
