Thread regarding PepsiCo Inc. (Pepsi) layoffs

Technical Job Outsourcing

Now that we are in this very difficult time, I hope our managers specifically in S&T look back at their last 5 years performance and decisions they have made, and have the decency and integrity to accept their shortcomings.

Many important roles were sources out to offshore (India) for less compensation (cheap workforce basically) but did it really help us? Some of our projects are stalled either because of time zone difference, low quality work, and the working culture. Associates from India just simply have different working culture, the finger pointing, blaming games, and deliberately dragging projects feet. We need some serious reorganization and accountability, and stopping the practice of outsourcing jobs. It seems an obvious cost cutting but it cuts deeper than they thought. We might be able to get people up to speed technically but you can’t change their culture

And that is why in 2025, me and my family switched to CocaCola :p. And Sprite! And seems many consumers have done the same

Here’s the thing. It’s all about the bottom line. Everything else is secondary. The stalling, the finger pointing, the blame-game, the project failures, the terrible customer service….all of that is below the cost savings. Sad PepsiCo world we live in today.
