Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

Notice to Intel Management. There's a new Sheriff in town.

Tan doesn’t want to hear that kind of embarrassment secondhand. “If I hear bad news from customers before I hear it from employees,” he warned, “you will be in big trouble.” In a flourish of accessibility, Tan noted that his personal cell phone number is printed on his business card. “You can text me anytime you want.”

The good news is that LBT knows how to manage a complex organization.

The bad news is that he is going to push a lot of people out of Intel, in order to make the organization manageable.

Would not be surprised at all to see him continue to follow exactly what Amazon and the other big tech companies have been doing, and that includes PIP.

PIP is like a witch hunt. Prove you are a witch by not drowning when held under water.

Haven't heard of Intel doing PIP, as is so popular with the megacap tech companies these days, but have little doubt that is what is coming.

So it is a return to cloud ranking and mandatory layoffs of the bottom performers.

Everyone should read about PIP and understand how it works. Amazon seems to randomly put people on the program, to constantly weed out anyone who can't make it through the PIP process.

It doesn't seem to have much to do with their actual performance. It's just a meat grinder. Intel has never handled performance that way, but the times they are a changing.

If you’re currently experiencing “Why are we still working on this” Email him. Tell him you want to be anonymous so you don’t get blow back.

There’s much to be done first. Many bad actors who can make giant waves need to be asked to leave.
If Tan’s serious about this, his direct number will be available like Andy’s was. As for now, ask him for his business card during a site visit.

Great. Nobody wants to work on a product that is garbage. I recommend the engineers and testing & validation teams take down Tan's phone number and send him a text when your working on products that you know are defective. In memory of Andy Grove and Intel excellence.

Some commentary and excerpts from DZ interview, not optimized for clickbaiting.

Stock trolls are of course choosing carefully what to focus on but the overall view is actually quite positive.

Anyone focused on the stock should widely ignore this troll-farm layoff website.

I am wondering what if those recent 20K laid off employees calling his cell phone number at once to ask “ WTF why did you lay me off? “

I expect him to show the difference between cheerleading and leadership.

So far so good.

The tone is unlike any CEO since Andy, and I don't expect LBT to change one bit either.

Now see if what follows is the eventual exit of those who rely too much on spin and lies.

What happens the next time a GM or VP is caught lying to their peers, the Board or LBT?

I'm guessing they will then suddenly retire so they 'can spend more time with their family'.

It’s about time management stops blowing smoke up each other’s a-s about what’s going on.
