Thread regarding Medical Solutions layoffs

They want us to quit

MSG leadership would love nothing more than for us to quit so they don’t have to pay severance. Everyone has to make their own decision but we all should know by now that nobody is safe. Network and apply for as many jobs as you can now. It can be a long process so get started. If you do get the invite with your manager and HR you aren’t starting from the beginning and pocket the severance. Also, apply for unemployment the day you get the call. It takes time to get it set up and there’s a waiting period before you actually become eligible for an unemployment payment. Have your work history, dates, addresses and phone numbers of past jobs ready to so you can complete online forms fast.

Good luck everyone.

I second this! DO NOT QUIT AND COLLECT YOUR SEVERANCE! But DO be preparing, applying, and doing interviews. It more than likely will take about the 30 days notice to start a new position after the hiring process (interviews, hiring paperwork, etc). If you have your end date already due to the notice and land another position, put that end date as your new start date at your new position.

If you happen to land another position but haven't received a termination notice and feel comfortable leaving knowing you'll have another source of income with the new position then I don't see anything wrong with quitting at that point. At the end of the day, the company doesn't care about any of us. Do what is best for YOU.

I cannot stress this enough, DO NOT QUIT. They are telling about these transitions to get people to quit so they don’t have to pay severance. COLLECT YOUR SEVERANCE!

They don’t care about you or what people are saying on here, but they care about their money. Hurt them where it counts
