“If you want to retire at jones, you will retire at jones.” Can we actually say this with a straight face? I would like to know how PP and ELT explain away this.

Nope, Jones is now just an underpaying firm on the trash heap of history along with the rest of them. Way to run the firm into the ground ELT.
The only reason Jones got by with underpaying is because it was a stable job. It's not anymore so all the good talent will start to leave and the people who can't cut it anywhere else will stay hanging on trying to skate by.
That saying, along with… “and money will never be my God” are long dead.
I think the Wii just ignore the EJ Hall of Famers ever said this. They pick and choose what part of the culture they want to follow.
