Thread regarding Ford layoffs

Working From Home = 30% Pay Reduction

I like this strategy. Let's start this strategy and see if anyone still wants to work from home.

If you still want to work from home after 8 weeks of performance evaluation, then you are laid off if your performance degraded.

If Ford eliminates Remote Work AND DEI initiatives, that will eliminate a large portion of our workforce.

"I will volunteer to take a pay cut and work from home. Where do I sign up for this?"

  • Yeah but you'll soon find out that just simply cutting your pay isn't the goal here. The goal is to get rid of the remote workers all together (the sentiment this was suggested with I'm guessing). So it'll be a pay cut for now, then squeezing and forcing more concessions until they become unreasonable.

OP this is a horrible idea. You must have bumped your head, smoked something odd, or just be a dull oaf of a creature in general. Good luck to you in navigating rational space.

If you return to the office then you may have a job, depending on your performance.

If you work from home, then it 30% pay cut, or your are being eliminated from the company.

It's your choice. Good luck.

This is a terrible idea. How about if we just go back to work five days a week?

People want to work from home so that they can run errands throughout the day and generally do non-work related activities.

If you get your assignments complete on time and do them well, who cares when, where or how you do them.

Unless…

You want to please governments that want tax money, oil companies that want you to buy gas, stores that want you to buy work clothes, restaurants that want your work lunches, CRE landlords who want rent, banks that want interest payments from CRE landlords and psychopathic managers that want to see the pain and anguish on your face.

RTO employees don't have to pay for gas, high car insurance and maintenance, business shirt and cleaning costs.

They also don't need to live near their workplace, so companies cut these costs from their salaries. It's simple right?

This won't be popular.

I know this because I am one of them. I regularly do groceries during the day, workout, deal with kids etc

Or instead, how about offering an in-office premium? Love all these boot licking comments. Capitalists extract as much labor as possible for as little money as possible - turnabout with labor extracting as much capital as possible while doing as little work possible is fair play.

Defending corporations and calling for lower pay for workers is big beta behavior.
