Thread regarding NetApp layoffs

Well ain't that a kick in the teeth

Laid off in one of the rounds last summer after one of the new VPs decided I wasn't contributing enough to her empire.

Email to my personal inbox today asking for me to sign off on a patent application for what I was working on at the end (guess it was worth something after all...)

Anyone ever managed to negotiate getting the patent bonus paid out in this situation? If I still worked there I'd be entitled to it contractually, seems sh---y to expect cooperation to file for it in return for nothing under the circumstances.

Inquire with attorney and don’t sign anything.

Reiterating the “don’t sign” without compensation.

Was the initial patent application already processed by the patent office with your name listed as an inventor?

Don't sign it. They can't force you.
