This morning/last night, rumors were going around here that if you could attach files to emails in Outlook, you were safe, and if you could not, you were probably going to get cut. Just curious how that ended up shaking out. I still had attachment access and so far haven’t gotten cut. I did also get the monitoring message on my laptop yesterday since someone suggested it might be a warning sign.

If you have an issue with file attachment, then call IT support.
@c7 That was me. The Ford layoffs aren’t tariff related, but I say that because the job market is abysmal rn and the tariffs are certainly a factor. Someone in my household got laid off specifically because of the tariffs. Companies are not huge on hiring right now when nobody knows exactly how expensive things are about to get.

Ford Motor Co management failures, terrible quality and brain-less product decisions are what is causing this company’s issues, not trade realignment.
I know that was also noted in prior cuts too. Somebody complained he couldn’t send files to a supplier then got his notification later that day.
Yeah I couldn’t send any then got pinged a few hours later and let go. Same with everyone else I know that got laid off.

@a3 attachment blocking? I still have access to attachments or at least I can do it on my work phone. On my laptop I had some trouble but I think my laptop is just having some kind of issue since for the past couple weeks it’s been spotty. I’m not in Canada so hopefully I’m good, the CVS team at my site seems to be intact.
I’m sorry you got cut, truly. May your next job be more peaceful and better paying. It’s a bad time to be unemployed and I hate where this country is at.
Yes I checked it first and posted it here, I was surprised when I noticed the blocking. I thought it was a new policy change but it cannot be just a coincidence. This morning I was chopped. I am sorry if you are in the same boat, just be prepared and good luck with you.
May be just send out a vacation request and wait for this whole massacre to be done. I don't know if this will save you. Just a last minute effort.
