A thread to talk about layoffs. I can’t say I’m surprised. It’s been a sh-t show.
Comment if you have been affected. Lots of people under Shareef are being sla-ghtered. It’s a massacre.

@ah+1jv52p63a Correct, you will permanently ineligible for hire at Ford or any Ford subsidiaries, nor at any suppliers that would potentially require you to interface with Ford onsite.
Call Megan Bonanni as soon as you can - mbonanni@pittlawpc.com
and ban together for a class action. You won't win, according to a source familiar, as one person suing but 4 or more gives you a fighting chance
Go win the good fight for those of us that couldn't
After 25 years, I got laid off today. I have worked with some amazing people during my career. I worked in OTA Triage and learned some new things over past 2 years. But was not good enough for management. Will look for new path. It is not end of the world.
@aj+1jv52p63a - good lawyers
but in reality they only have to do it if the people being let go are in the same location

How are they allowed to ignore the WARN act?
@ab "No reemployment which is not contingent upon signing the severance."
Meaning you will not be re-hired or does it mean you can not ever apply to Ford or any of it's subsidiaries again? (i know few friends got a clause that they can not ever work at ford again).
Are they adding that clause again in the SP?
OTA test, contract and direct hire alike, few were recent hires, most were 3-5 years of exp. Though I get the feeling there's more coming.
What department?
15-20 ppl laid off yesterday eod from the department I'm in(about 10%), so far no affect on me yet but we'll see
@ab+1jv52p63a that's way better than 2022. I had almost 8 years and got 2 months.
they were way stingier in the abuse and coercion case @ab+1jv52p63a
Yes I was affected. Severance is really bad. Up to 9 months if you have 20+ years of experience.
Look below (left years) (right payment in months)
0-1 1
1-4 2
5-9 3
10-11 4
12-13 5
14-15 6
16-17 7
18-19 8
20+ 9.
That’s basically it with severance. No WARN act. No reemployment which is not contingent upon signing the severance. They do provide healthcare depending on YOE. And finally the pro rated bonus gets paid out the following year.
Always talk to an employment lawyer regarding severance
There are online calculators to help you calculate what you are owed (in the absence of anything specified in your contract).
Can't wait to see how this helps their bottom line in the long run. Hard to fix warranty issues with no one around to work
Affected. Definitely a sh-t show. Management does not want anyone around who will actually tell them where things are at
One month pay for three years of “service” cuz this sh-t is like psychological warfare
Do the. Math
Any word on what kind of severance they're offering?
tbh, ever since I joined FNV4 Software team, it has been an endless nightmare! Software riddled with bugs, lack of proper training for tools( canoe, autosar), underfunded lab benches, tools that breaks down easily, extremely slow processes that it will take millennials to finish. Lastly, no one knows what they’re doing! Jusr to put it plainly, FNV4 was sh!t show. There’s so much more I have to complain but that’s besides that. If I do get laid off best luck bc ford is not cut out to be in the software business
They hired him from Intel, but he should’ve been the first to be let go. Ford doesn’t need motivational speakers from Intel — they have no understanding of Ford’s culture or the automotive industry.
