Thread regarding BD (Becton Dickinson & Co.) layoffs

Incompetence, Ignorant , Insensitive , Impolite, and Insecure leadership

This company is plagued by so-called leaders who are inherently incompetent. Unless the CEO and CIO are shown the door and corruption at every level is rooted out, this company has no future.

Some people think that just by calling a team meeting and saying ‘we are one team’, suddenly everything will change and a positive environment will be created. But honestly, nobody gets motivated listening to liars and fools, and these people will never understand.

Definitely leadership issues for the BD Biosciences divisions.
Now Siemen's problem since they are buying it.
20 years service and support experience after being in the military, 10 years at BD.
Became very frustrated my last couple of years with the poor decision making by new leadership.
Here is were it all went wrong, in my opinion.
Service and support departments use to be ran by people who promoted up in the ranks and learned from their predecessors. Service and support departments were not treated as profit centers, and there is a good reason for that. (will skip those details)
What they decided to do was hire MBAs with Six Sigma certifications to run these service and support divisions, and these people thought they could take some cookie-cutter approach to generating revenue like some corporate office environment like they are at a place like Dunder Mifflen. What happen is that customers with 20 year relationships with BD were caught off guard and when nickeled and dimed over an endless stream of profit-pettiness, they took their business elsewhere.
That was my observation during my 10 years there.

I get that people are frustrated and venting here, but honestly, this isn’t going to change anything. When a CEO can launch some pricey initiative to “boost shareholder value” and still keep his job after delivering negative growth, that tells you everything you need to know. This company isn’t going to change.

This company is on life support, and all these so-called “leaders” are like clueless doctors, nurses, and insurance agents. Saving the patient is way beyond their abilities. But while pretending to keep things alive, they’re just milking it for money. In the end, the patient will die, shareholders will be left broke, and the good employees—the real family—will be put through the wringer emotionally.

Sorry to be pessimistic, but I do not think this company wants to change anything.

Yes it's amazing how BD can make any past employer seem like a dream job in comparison.

Talk to any BD leader, first 5 mins you will think wow!! this person knows a lot. Give him another 5 mins, you will start hating yourself for wasting 10 minutes from your life.

If your IQ is more 75, and you are not shamelessly corrupt, stay away from this organization. Thank me later!

Remove CXOs and useless VPs, this great company can still be saved.

This is the third company I’ve worked for, and after a year here, I’ve come to realize my last two employers were a dream by comparison. This place is full of arrogant people. At first, I thought it was just an issue in my department, but after finding this site, it’s clear the problem is company-wide. The last town hall was a complete disaster.

Once, I accidentally met a “top” leader, and ever since, I’ve been in shock wondering how someone so unintelligent could reach that kind of position.

Leadership? They’re in it for the paycheck, kid. All’s well that ends well.
