June inventory

Looks like June inventory is June 22 and 23. I’m not planning on working the 23rd because that’s backstage inventory even though my manager says I have to. Is there any way to get out of it without my store manager getting all over me?

I’m not even asked, I’m TOLD in advance that I WILL be working inventory!
The thing that I’m not fond of is when we have finished “early” we couldn’t leave. We had to hang out for hours doing “recovery”! And even when that was done we STILL had to stay.

Say no. If you're a sales colleague, its a helluva lot easier to say no than if you're back of house. Don't be a d-bag and call in, thus making sh-t harder for others

Yeah, it’s called calling out sick. Your manager can’t write you up or give you grief about it either bc it’s against company policy to deny anyone a sick day. Doing inventory is not a law.

Inventory is voluntary, not mandatory. Ast supervisor in my store is canvassing right now. It's a big NO for me unless others in my department is willing to do June inventory.

It is really simple. Call out. If you do currently not have a problem with reliability then there is nothing your manager can do other than possibly coach you on attendance. If the manager tries to escalate further with harassment or take some type of retaliation actions towards you then you open up a case with HR. A harassment case in HR will be looked at much closer than someone with good attendance calling out for one day.

I have seen so many people get away with missing work, coming in late and so on and nothing is ever done about it. I have seen over the years many call off on so called black out days that they stressed are required yet people called out and nothing happened to them.
