If you want to retire, then retire. You are wasting your most precious resource, time by sitting around waiting for a package. Jeez, get out of there and enjoy your life.
“I will not leave without a package”. You are owned by the company if you don’t control whether you go to work each day. I retired 3 years ago and while it would have been convenient to have been laid off and have some bonus $$, I didn’t wait for a package and enjoy every day of freedom. There is also irony that your superiors likely know you want the package and won’t give it to you since you are close to retirement and likely to just give up on your own or keep working for the pittance they give you now.

I am also waiting for a package to retire in 2025. Perfect timing for me but I will not leave without a package and no one should.
