Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

RTO and after hours work

Are you all working late nights and early mornings with RTO.

My team is geographically spread and I am required to provide significant after hour support

Turns out some of those opposed to RTO are actually North Korean operatives!

Yeah my current schedule is roughly 5am to 10pm. That's changing with RTO.

Before COVID. Many of us were already working in the office five full days and providing after-hours support from home. RTO and after-hours support isn't a new concept.

The ol crusty executive types want to maintain power and they need subordinates to feel the illusion. Guess what? Times change! Most "business" is now done across cites, states and GEOS on video calls. So...Let um pull the RTO bullsh-t as much as they want. Time will prove that maintaining office space is a waist of time and money. P.S. If you are a manager or executive going to the office to try and get laid, Your days are numberd losers. Join an adult club.

Now's the time to get your colonoscopy and work from home. Get laser eye surgery and some crowns done while you're at it

I think it will have some effect. Say you setup something right before lunch that takes 8 hours to run. You could log on at night, review the data, and submit a follow-up and have the data ready by next morning. If you spend some of your "off time", it could make a big difference in how long it takes to implement a change affecting the process. I suspect that there will be more cases now where stuff just gets pushed until tomorrow.

Fu-k Intel. Fire all the “leaders” who ran this company into the ground and are now acting like it’s all WFH and not the fact that they are all old hacks who are stuck living in the glory days.

In my experience my managers have never required 8-5 in office plus more at home. I've always been flexible. Migrating home during the day when there's a natural break before any evening meetings.

By significant do you mean reply to emails or messages?
In this day and age making such posts is ridiculous. Don't work if you don't want to. If you work make sure your manager knows so it helps you with any QPB or raise or whatever
