Low performers are being targeted. So when they leave, the mid level performers are now the "low performers". This strategy will never work, and never end.

I knew slackers (low performers) who duped everyone around them into believing they were working their fingers to the bone. They had the bosses fooled, too.
I was always an achiever and maybe outstanding once or twice in 30 some years. I did my job and flew under the radar not wanting to be promoted to supervisor. I enjoyed engineering and not the power struggle that management deals with. As you get wise to the game you work hard towards the thing that have historically mattered. All the other stuff is noise and usually you can hand that off to the others. A smart company will get rid of the noise and the folks babysitting it.
There is no top if there is no bottom
Top will become the bottom
Speakup for everybody
There were about 100 low performers who were targeted with this plan. Then why send the note to hundreds of people leaders? Makes no sense!!!!
Jack the "kn--e" Nasser pulled the same trick from Jack Welch trying to eliminate the low performers around 2000. This caused uproar from the employees and Jack was showed the door soon after.
Let's see how long Jim can hold on.

Does JF get to go
When high performance and high pay got eliminated, low performance and low pay automatically becomes high performance and high pay. Hence the target to be eliminated. HC is converging to zero.
Think slowly about your post.
- Low performs targeted. Ok, most organizations have some performance plan.
- All organization's have low performers or individual's who have lost motivation.
- Some organizations have done this type of process already where 'low performers' are given $$ to move on. This is in no way new. Perhaps new to Ford but make no mistake not new at all.
- Low performers never end regardless of your strategy. Point being you must have a strategy.
